International Energy Outlook 2017

Sep 14, 2017
World energy consumption is projected to increase by 28% by 2040, according to the International Energy Outlook 2017. Most of the world’s growth is projected to take place in countries outside the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). China, India, and the other non-OECD Asia nations alone account for more than 60% of the projected increase in world energy demand.

Global Transportation Energy Consumption Examination of Scenarios to 2040 using the International Transportation Energy Demand Determinants (ITEDD) model

Sep 12, 2017
The analyses presented in this report are based on model results for a number of international transportation energy consumption scenarios using the International Transportation Energy Demand Determinants (ITEDD) model. This analysis demonstrates new EIA modeling and analysis capabilities, presents examples of key energy-demand determinants, and shows how a quantitative framework can aid in understanding them.

Short-Term Energy Outlook

Sep 12, 2017
Significant disruptions in the U.S. energy market have occurred in recent weeks as a result of Hurricane Harvey. At the time of publication, continuing uncertainty exists regarding the timeline for the return to normal operations for a broad range of upstream production, refining, pipeline, and terminal and distribution infrastructure. The severity and duration of these outages create additional uncertainty about the path of energy prices in the coming weeks and months. Although this STEO attempts to incorporate a baseline scenario for energy production, flows, and prices, actual outcomes could deviate significantly from this forecast. This month's forecast does not include any projected effects from Hurricane Irma, which made landfall in Florida on September 10. At the time of publication, it was too early to have meaningful information on the extent to which Hurricane Irma will cause disruptions to the U.S. energy system.

Petroleum Marketing Monthly

Sep 1, 2017
The September 2017 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through June 2017, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined products sales in the United States. In this month’s issue of the PMM, preliminary data show crude oil and petroleum product prices were on the decline during June. U.S.–level Prime Supplier data show sales of gasoline and distillates remained at rates higher than month-ago and year-ago levels. Additionally, state motor fuels tax information with rates in effect as of July 1, 2017 is available on the PMM website.

Release notes for Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM) and Petroleum Supply Annual (PSA)

Aug 31, 2017
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released the following new and revised data as well as data updated with hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGL) product categories on August 31, 2017. PSM tables for June 2017 and PSA tables for 2016 in portable document format (PDF) and comma-separated-value (CSV) files are currently unavailable. Tables in PDF and CSV formats currently posted on the EIA website contain PSM data for May 2017 and PSA data for 2015. Updated tables in PDF and CVS formats will be released at a later date.

Company Level Imports

Imports data at the company level collected from the EIA-814 Monthly Imports Report.

U.S. Movements of Crude Oil By Rail

Aug 31, 2017
Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for June 2017. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased over the past five years. The new data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.

Monthly Biodiesel Production Report

Aug 31, 2017
The U.S. Energy Information Administration released new data today showing national and regional monthly biodiesel production for June 2017. In addition to biodiesel production, data included producer sales, producer stocks, and feedstock inputs.

Natural Gas Monthly

Aug 31, 2017
In June 2017, for the first time in 15 months, dry natural gas production increased year-to-year from the same month a year ago. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in June 2017 was 2,188 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 72.9 Bcf/day. This level was a 1.3 Bcf/day (1.9%) increase from the June 2016 level of 71.6 Bcf/day.

Monthly Crude Oil and Natural Gas Production

Aug 31, 2017
These monthly production estimates are based on data from the EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.

Monthly Energy Review

Aug 28, 2017
EIA's comprehensive report on recent integrated energy statistics. Preliminary data indicate that, in May 2017, U.S. total primary energy consumption equaled 7.8 quadrillion Btu, a 3% increase from May 2016. The electric power sector accounted for 38% of the total, the transportation sector for 31%, the industrial sector for 23%, the residential sector for 4%, and the commercial sector for 3%.

Oman Country Analysis Brief

Aug 25, 2017
Oman is the largest oil and natural gas producer in the Middle East that is not a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Oman’s petroleum and other liquids production averaged more than 1 million barrels per day in 2016, its highest production level ever. Oman was on track to maintain this production level in 2017, but it reduced production to approximately 970,000 barrels per day in early 2017 to meet the production cut it agreed to, along with members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Prime Supplier Report

Aug 21, 2017
The latest Prime Supplier Report presents data collected through June 2017 on Form EIA-782C, "Monthly Report of Prime Supplier Sales of Petroleum Products Sold for Local Consumption." These data measure primary petroleum product deliveries into the states where they are locally marketed and consumed.

Russia's oil exports have decreased modestly since 2022, shifting toward Asia ›

From 2020 to 2024, crude oil and condensate exports from Russia averaged 5.0 million barrels per day (b/d). Exports from Russia in the first half of 2025 (1H25) were 4.3 million b/d (compared with 4.8 million b/d in 2024). Even as crude oil export volumes from Russia have remained relatively high, the destination of these exports has shifted, mainly due to sanctions related to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
