Early release 2016 annual EIA-860 data

Aug 15, 2017
This report is an early release of 2016 data on individual electric plants and generators from the form EIA-860. The detailed energy storage technology data file is new and includes nameplate energy capacity (MWh), maximum charge rate (MW), maximum discharge rate (MW), electro-chemical storage technology, reactive power rating, enclosure type, and applications type. The data have not been fully edited and should not be used to calculate state or national totals. Data for some plants and generators are not included pending further review and validation. Final data will be released later in 2017.

Short-Term Energy Outlook

Aug 8, 2017
North Sea Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $48 per barrel (b) in July, $2/b higher than the June average and almost $4/b higher than in July 2016. EIA forecasts Brent spot prices to average $51/b in 2017 and $52/b in 2018. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices are forecast to average $2/b less than Brent prices in both 2017 and 2018. NYMEX contract values for December 2017 delivery that traded during the five-day period ending August 3 suggest that a range of $37/b to $68/b encompasses the market expectation for December WTI prices at the 95% confidence level.

Petroleum Marketing Monthly

Aug 1, 2017
The August 2017 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through May 2017, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined products sales in the United States. In this month’s issue of the PMM, crude oil price data show mixed trends, while prices for finished gasoline and distillates fell. Russia's oil exports have decreased modestly since 2022, shifting toward Asia ›

From 2020 to 2024, crude oil and condensate exports from Russia averaged 5.0 million barrels per day (b/d). Exports from Russia in the first half of 2025 (1H25) were 4.3 million b/d (compared with 4.8 million b/d in 2024). Even as crude oil export volumes from Russia have remained relatively high, the destination of these exports has shifted, mainly due to sanctions related to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
