EIA logo

EIA new logoOn November 8, 2022, we launched a redesigned EIA logo. We wanted to develop a refreshed logo that was easier to read, looked more modern, used fewer colors, and used a different font.

We established a series of design goals to guide this project:

  • Simplify the original logo
  • Reduce the number of colors used in the logo
  • Improve scalability and readability
  • Create a more modern look

We experimented with a number of designs; the process took several months and many iterations.

Like our past logos, the refreshed EIA logo may not be used without the express consent of the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

EIA old logoThe old EIA logo is still a registered trademark (Registration Number 4019501) of the U.S. Department of Energy and may not be used without the express consent of the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The old mark consists of the acronym "EIA" with an associated design element of three curved lines above the literal element that extend to its right.
