International Energy Outlook 2017

Sep 14, 2017
World energy consumption is projected to increase by 28% by 2040, according to the International Energy Outlook 2017. Most of the world’s growth is projected to take place in countries outside the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). China, India, and the other non-OECD Asia nations alone account for more than 60% of the projected increase in world energy demand.

Sep 12, 2017
The analyses presented in this report are based on model results for a number of international transportation energy consumption scenarios using the International Transportation Energy Demand Determinants (ITEDD) model. This analysis demonstrates new EIA modeling and analysis capabilities, presents examples of key energy-demand determinants, and shows how a quantitative framework can aid in understanding them.

Short-Term Energy Outlook

Sep 12, 2017
Significant disruptions in the U.S. energy market have occurred in recent weeks as a result of Hurricane Harvey. At the time of publication, continuing uncertainty exists regarding the timeline for the return to normal operations for a broad range of upstream production, refining, pipeline, and terminal and distribution infrastructure. The severity and duration of these outages create additional uncertainty about the path of energy prices in the coming weeks and months. Although this STEO attempts to incorporate a baseline scenario for energy production, flows, and prices, actual outcomes could deviate significantly from this forecast. This month's forecast does not include any projected effects from Hurricane Irma, which made landfall in Florida on September 10. At the time of publication, it was too early to have meaningful information on the extent to which Hurricane Irma will cause disruptions to the U.S. energy system.

Petroleum Marketing Monthly

Sep 1, 2017
The September 2017 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through June 2017, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined products sales in the United States. In this month’s issue of the PMM, preliminary data show crude oil and petroleum product prices were on the decline during June. U.S.–level Prime Supplier data show sales of gasoline and distillates remained at rates higher than month-ago and year-ago levels. Additionally, state motor fuels tax information with rates in effect as of July 1, 2017 is available on the PMM website.
