Notice:  Starting on October 21, EIA is enhancing its delivery of petroleum price data. First, Tables 11 and 12 are currently published weekly in the WPSR and include third-party spot price data from the preceding six days. Starting on October 21, EIA will publish third-party spot price data on a daily basis, not weekly, and will therefore discontinue Tables 11 and 12. Second, also beginning October 21, we will discontinue the inclusion of Table 14 in the WPSR because it has always been derivative of the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update and duplicative of the Weekly Retail Gasoline and Diesel Prices, both of which are typically published the day before the WPSR. Including this derivative and duplicative data in the WPSR made sense in the days before the Internet, when the WPSR was available in hardcopy at public libraries, but it does not make sense in 2026. Links to all fuel price data will be available in the Related section on the right sidebar of this page.

Notice:  The Appendices section will be discontinued on October 21. Appendix A is wholly derivative of the WPSR and the Petroleum Supply Monthly and will be retired as a result. Appendix B will be folded into an upgraded methodological documentation to allow greater transparency into this EIA publication. Appendix C, Northeast Reserves data, will be published as Table 4A in HTML format only going forward.
