Data for wood pellet and other densified biomass fuel production, sales, and inventory levels from approximately 90 operating pellet fuel manufacturing facilities in the United States. Facilities with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons or more per year are required to report monthly.

Short-Term Energy Outlook

North Sea Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $50 per barrel (b) in May, $2/b lower than the April average. EIA forecasts Brent spot prices to average $53/b in 2017 and $56/b in 2018. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices are forecast to average $2/b less than Brent prices in both 2017 and 2018. NYMEX contract values for September 2017 delivery that traded during the five-day period ending June 1 suggest that a range of $39/b to $64/b encompasses the market expectation for WTI prices in September 2017 at the 95% confidence level.

The June 2017 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through March 2017, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined products sales in the United States.
In this month’s issue of the PMM, final monthly data and annual averages for 2016 crude oil statistics are published in Tables 1, 1A, and 18-27. Preliminary monthly data show crude oil prices declined in March, while prices for finished petroleum products show mixed trends. U.S.–level Prime Supplier sales data show gasoline and distillate sales increased month-on-month and are above year-ago levels.

It includes three tables detailing working and net available shell storage capacity by facility type, product, and PAD District as of March 31.
Natural Gas Monthly

In March 2017, for the thirteenth consecutive month, dry natural gas production decreased year-to-year from the same month a year ago. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in March 2017 was 2,219 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 71.6 Bcf/day. This level was a 1.8 Bcf/day (2.4%) decrease from the March 2016 level of 73.4 Bcf/day.

U.S. Movements of Crude Oil By Rail

Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for March 2017. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased over the past five years. The new data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
