Changes to August 31, 2023 Release of Petroleum Supply Monthly and Petroleum Supply     Annual

Released: July 31, 2023

We will add new data labeled Transfers to crude oil supply to national and regional volumetric balance tables for petroleum and biofuels beginning with data that will be released on August 31, 2023. Transfers to crude oil supply will include barrels of unfinished oils (refinery feedstocks) and natural gas liquids that we identified as being added to crude oil supply by blending.

Transfers to crude oil supply will first appear in Petroleum Supply Annual (PSA) data for January–December 2022. We will also update Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM) data to show Transfers to crude oil supply for January–June 2023. In total, we will have 18 months (January 2022–June 2023) of historical data for Transfers to crude oil supply.

We will report barrels of Transfers to crude oil supply in PSA tables 1–13, PSM tables 1–25, and equivalent tables in Petroleum Navigator.

For more information, see This Week in Petroleum (March 22, 2023).

Sourcekeys for the new data are provided.
