Oct 10, 2024 Iran holds some of the world’s largest oil and natural gas reserves, and crude oil and natural gas production growth remains limited because of international sanctions and underinvestment. However, Iran’s crude oil production increased after 2020 after global oil demand returned to pre-COVID-19 levels and China began to import more discounted crude oil from Iran.

Oct 8, 2024 Winter Fuels Outlook. This month we published the Winter Fuels Outlook that details our expectations for energy expenditures this winter. In general, we expect relatively little change in energy bills for much of the country this winter from last winter as lower energy prices mostly offset colder weather.
Oct 8, 2024 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Imports and exports are available at the national level, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
Oct 4, 2024 Saudi Arabia is a top crude oil producer and exporter and a key member of the OPEC+ agreement. In addition, Saudi Arabia has numerous development projects to help meet domestic electricity demand that increase nonassociated natural gas production, natural gas-fired power generation, and renewable energy sources. These projects support Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and related initiatives to shift domestic generation capacity toward mainly natural gas and renewables.
Oct 3, 2024 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from seven major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through October 1, 2024, republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange.
Oct 2, 2024 U.S. coal production during the second quarter of 2024 totaled 118.1 million short tons (MMst), which was 9.1% lower than the previous quarter and 17.1% lower than the second quarter of 2023. Second-quarter 2024 U.S. coal exports (25.8 MMst) decreased 3.8% from the first-quarter 2024 level and increased 4.4% from the second-quarter 2023 level. U.S. coal imports in the second quarter of 2024 totaled 0.5 MMst. All data for 2022 and previous years are final. All data for 2023 and 2024 are preliminary.
Oct 1, 2024 The October 2024 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through July 2024, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics for crude oil sales in the United States.
Oct 1, 2024 The Quarterly Coal Distribution Report (QCDR) provides detailed U.S. domestic coal distribution data (excluding waste coal and imports) for second-quarter 2024 by coal-origin state, coal-destination state, mode of transportation, and consuming sector. Quarterly coal distribution data for all quarters are preliminary and will be updated in the corresponding Annual Coal Distribution Report.
Sep 30, 2024 EIA funded an update to the Northeast Regional Energy Efficiency Partnerships’ (NEEP) Regional Energy Efficiency Database, which includes energy savings, expenditures, and energy-related CO2 emissions reductions associated with energy efficiency programs in select U.S. census divisions. NEEP’s latest report is available at eia.gov, and the full database is available by request at NEEP.org. The data informs assumptions we make in our National Energy Modeling System (NEMS), which produces long-term projections of energy use in the United States. In the buildings sector, energy efficiency plays a role in energy use by reducing the amount of energy required to meet demand for services in residential and commercial buildings.

Sep 30, 2024 This analysis focuses on the financial and operating trends of 134 global oil and natural gas companies from 2019 through second-quarter 2024.
Sep 30, 2024 U.S. dry natural gas production increased year over year in 2023 for the third consecutive year, according to the 2023 Natural Gas Annual. Dry natural gas production was the highest for any year on record, dating back to 1930. Natural gas consumption also increased year over year in 2023.
Sep 30, 2024 In July 2024, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the first time in five months. Preliminary dry natural gas production in July 2024 was 3,234 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 104.3 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). Production was 1.0% (1.0 Bcf/d) higher in July 2024 than in July 2023 (103.3 Bcf/d); dry natural gas production was the highest for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry production. Gross withdrawals also increased from July 2023
