Sep 10, 2024 New U.S. biofuels data. Biomass-based diesel products are making up an increasing share of the total distillate fuel oil consumed in the United States. Beginning this month, we will publish forecasts for several new series that better capture how biofuels are being consumed and the share of total distillate fuel oil they account for. We expect that although U.S. total distillate fuel oil consumption will fall slightly this year to average 4.1 million barrels per day (b/d), biofuels will account for 9% (360,000 b/d) of that consumption, up from 8% last year and 5% in 2022.
Sep 5, 2024 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from seven major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through September 3, 2024, republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Sep 3, 2024 The September 2024 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through June 2024, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics for crude oil sales in the United States.
Aug 30, 2024 In June 2024, dry natural gas production decreased year over year for the fourth consecutive month. Preliminary dry natural gas production in June 2024 was 3,090 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 103.0 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). Production was 0.2% (0.2 Bcf/d) lower in June 2024 than in June 2023 (103.2 Bcf/d); despite this decrease, dry natural gas production was the second highest for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry production. Gross withdrawals also decreased from June 2023.

Aug 30, 2024 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for June 2024. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years. The data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
Aug 30, 2024 Imports data at the company level collected from Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
Aug 27, 2024 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our August 2024 report, preliminary estimates indicate that total carbon dioxide emissions from U.S. consumption of energy (excluding biomass) equaled 375 million metric tons in May 2024, a 2% increase from May 2023. Of this total, petroleum accounted for 52%, natural gas for 33%, and coal for 14%.
Aug 23, 2024 Data in the August 2024 Electric Power Monthly (EPM) are for June 2024, when net generation in the United States increased 5.6% from May 2023. Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 4.3% compared with the previous year. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 1.7% from May 2023.

Aug 15, 2024 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Where possible, imports and exports are listed by country, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
As U.S. crude oil and natural gas production have increased, so has the volume of production declines from existing wells. To offset the increasing declines, operators today must bring on new wells to sustain or increase production levels. More ›
