Changes to Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) Transfers to crude oil supply
EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) will begin showing Transfers to crude oil supply to national volumetric balance tables for petroleum and biofuels, and propane that is fractionated and ready for sale beginning with data released on November 15, 2023.
Transfers to crude oil supply include barrels of unfinished oils (refinery feedstocks) and natural gas liquids that we identified as being added to crude oil supply by blending. Transfers to crude oil supply first appear in Petroleum Supply Annual (PSA) data for January–December 2022. We also updated Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM) data to show Transfers to crude oil supply for January–June 2023 have been included in the subsequent release of the PSM for July 2023 and August 2023.
We will report barrels of Transfers to crude oil supply in Table 1 of the WPSR, and they will be included in the crude oil adjustment calculation going forward.
We calculate barrels of Transfers to crude oil supply as the sum of weekly production of total Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) reported in Alaska on the EIA-806 minus the sum of natural gasoline (excluding condensate) and unfinished oils transfers to crude oil supply from most recent Petroleum Supply Monthly minus weekly production of condensate plus weekly stock change of condensate.

Second , we will report stocks of propane that are fractionated and ready for sale as Propane, fractionated and ready for sale on Table 6 and Table 9 of the WPSR. This amount includes fractionated propane ready for sale (for example HD-5 propane and HD-10 propane) but excludes the propane component of unfractionated mixed products as well as propylene. We will begin collection of this new data series this week, however, we plan to suppress data values until they meet data quality standards.
