Nov 15, 2023 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Where possible, imports and exports are listed by country, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
Nov 14, 2023 China was the most populous country in 2022. However, with a declining population for the first time since 1961, China will be overtaken by India in 2023, according to United Nations estimates. China was the largest energy producer and consumer in the world in 2021. Primary energy production grew by more than 6% in 2021.
Nov 13, 2023 The Drilling Productivity Report has been updated with the latest charts and methodology. This report uses recent data on the total number of drilling rigs in operation along with estimates of drilling productivity and estimated changes in production from existing oil and natural gas wells to provide estimated changes in oil and natural gas production for seven key regions.
Nov 7, 2023 Global oil supply. We forecast global liquid fuels production will increase by 1.0 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2024. Ongoing OPEC+ production cuts will offset production growth from non-OPEC countries and help maintain a relatively balanced global oil market next year. Although the conflict between Israel and Hamas has not affected physical oil supply at this point, uncertainties surrounding the conflict and other global oil supply conditions could put upward pressure on crude oil prices in the coming months. We forecast the Brent crude oil price will increase from an average of $90 per barrel (b) in the fourth quarter of 2023 to an average of $93/b in 2024.
Nov 6, 2023 Relatively full natural gas inventories in the United States and Europe as well as expanded global export and import capacity for liquefied natural gas (LNG) have improved the likelihood that supply will be sufficient to meet demand in global natural gas markets as we enter the upcoming 2023–24 winter season (November–March). However, risks to this balance are associated with possible extreme weather and supply issues.
Nov 2, 2023
We split the wind category into onshore wind and offshore wind for the capacity, generation, and capacity factor tables.
We have released new State Electricity Profiles with final state-level data through 2022 on:
The profiles also include a new table on reliability (SIADI/SAIFI data).
Nov 2, 2023 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through October 31, 2023, and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Nov 1, 2023 The November 2023 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through August 2023 presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics for crude oil sales in the United States.
Nov 1, 2023 This report contains data for wood pellet and other densified biomass fuel production, sales, and inventory levels from 76 operating manufacturers of densified biomass fuel in the United States. Facilities with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons or more per year are required to report monthly.
Oct 31, 2023 In August 2023, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the 29th consecutive month. Preliminary dry natural gas production in August 2023 was 3,236 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 104.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 3.5% (3.5 Bcf/d) higher than August 2022 (100.9 Bcf/d) and the highest for any month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Gross withdrawals also increased from August 2022.
Oct 31, 2023 Supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products on a national and regional level. The data describe production, imports and exports, movements, and inventories.
Oct 31, 2023 Imports data at the company level collected from Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
Oct 31, 2023 These monthly production estimates are based on data from Form EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.
Oct 31, 2023 The U.S. Energy Information Administration release showing national monthly biofuels operable production capacity.
Oct 31, 2023 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for August 2023. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years. The data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
Oct 27, 2023 Annual state-level estimates of consumption, prices, and expenditures for jet fuel and aviation gasoline through 2022. Preliminary estimates of consumption for noncombustible renewable energy (wind, hydroelectric, solar, and geothermal) and other energy indicators (population, GDP, degree days, electric net summer capacity, and new capacity and usage factors). The jet fuel and aviation gasoline data use updated estimation methods for 2022. The noncombustible renewable energy data use EIA’s new captured energy approach to convert the data to British thermal units.
Oct 26, 2023 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our October 2023 report, preliminary estimates indicate that U.S. renewable energy consumption totaled 0.7 quadrillion British thermal units in July 2023, which accounted for 11% of U.S. total end-use consumption and 9% of U.S. total primary energy consumption.
Oct 24, 2023 Data in the October 2023 Electric Power Monthly (EPM) are for August 2023, when net generation in the United States was up 2.9% from August 2022. Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 5.7% compared with August 2022. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 0.7% from August 2022.
Oct 24, 2023 This month’s Electric Monthly Update contains data for August 2023 and a feature article about how U.S. construction costs dropped for solar, wind, and natural gas-fired generators through 2021.

The EPA2022 presents 11 years (2011–22) of national-level data on electricity generating capacity, electricity generation, and useful thermal output, fuel receipts, consumption, and emissions.
As U.S. crude oil and natural gas production have increased, so has the volume of production declines from existing wells. To offset the increasing declines, operators today must bring on new wells to sustain or increase production levels. More ›
