Prime Supplier Report

The latest Prime Supplier Report presents data collected through January 2017 on Form EIA-782C, "Monthly Report of Prime Supplier Sales of Petroleum Products Sold for Local Consumption." These data measure primary petroleum product deliveries into the states where they are locally marketed and consumed.

United Arab Emirates Country Analysis Brief

The likelihood of further major oil discoveries is low, but the UAE uses enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques to increase the extraction rates of the country’s mature oil and natural gas fields.

New monthly data are available for electricity, petroleum, and coal series. The profiles also include new annual data for coal and natural gas consumption and expenditures, as well as vehicle miles traveled. In addition, analytical narratives and Quick Facts have been updated for Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

U.S. Energy-Related Carbon Dioxide Emissions, 2015

U.S. Energy Information Administration releases its online analysis of 2015 energy-related carbon dioxide emissions today. It indicates U.S. carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of fossil fuels were 5,259 million metric tons carbon dioxide in 2015, a decrease of 2.7 percent from the 2014 level. Energy-related carbon dioxide emissions have declined in six out of the past ten year.

Drilling Productivity Report

EIA’s monthly Drilling Productivity Report (DPR) has been released. The DPR takes a fresh look at oil and natural gas production, starting with an assessment of how and where drilling for hydrocarbons is taking place. It uses recent data on the total number of drilling rigs in operation along with estimates of drilling productivity and estimated changes in production from existing oil and natural gas wells to provide estimated changes in oil and natural gas production for seven key fields.

Midwest and Rocky Mountain Transportation Fuels Markets

A new study commissioned by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), finds that changes in North American energy markets over the past decade have strengthened the supply of transportation fuels including motor gasoline, distillates, and jet fuel in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.

Australia, rich in energy commodities, is one of the world’s top producers and exporters of fossil fuels and uranium. The country’s stable political environment, relatively transparent regulatory structure, substantial hydrocarbon reserves, and its proximity to Asian markets make it an attractive location for investment in energy production and mining. Although, in the past few years, Australia’s energy projects, particularly LNG export facilities, have faced escalating costs, creating some challenges to companies developing hydrocarbon resources there.

The report discusses current initiatives to establish regional liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading hubs and pricing benchmarks in Asia and assesses the prospects for the Asian gas hubs in the near future. The report examines the characteristics of successful natural gas trading hubs and develops qualitative and quantitative indicators of the components of effective hubs, with emphasis on applying these indicators to Asian markets.

Monthly Densified Biomass Fuel Report

The report has data through August 2016. The survey collects information on wood pellet and other densified biomass fuel production, sales, and inventory levels from approximately 90 operating pellet fuel manufacturing facilities in the United States. Facilities with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons or more per year are required to report monthly.

Petroleum Marketing Monthly

The March 2017 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through December 2016, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined products sales in the United States. In this issue of the PMM, preliminary data show prices for crude oil and refined products were on the rise during December. U.S.-level Prime Supplier data show sales of gasoline and distillates declined month-on-month, but remained above year-ago rates. Additionally, updated federal and state gasoline and diesel fuel tax information is available on the PMM website.

The United States set record energy production in 2025, again ›

Total energy production in the United States increased to a new record of 107 quadrillion British thermal units (quads) in 2025, a 3.4% increase from the previous record set in 2024, according to new data in our Monthly Energy Review. Total production was driven by record-high production in natural gas, crude oil, natural gas plant liquids (NGPLs), and renewables. This was the fourth consecutive year in which the United States set a record for total energy production. More
