Monthly Biodiesel Production Report

This is the first issue of the Monthly Biodiesel Production Report. It presents data for all of 2008 and monthly data for January through March 2009. Data include inventory held by biodiesel producers, production capacity, production, sales quantities and sales revenue. Production capacity is reported at the National and State levels. The data for 2009 will be published in quarterly reports on an accelerated schedule. Routine publication of the monthly report is expected approximately 75 days after the end of a calendar month

Changes to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) has made substantive changes to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) to reflect changes to the weekly petroleum supply survey forms (EIA-800 through 809) and to improve presentation of the data.

The changes to the WPSR and Petroleum Navigator will be effective with the release of the week ending June 4, 2010 data on June 9, 2010.

Alternatives to Traditional Transportation Fuels 2008

This annual report presents information on alternative fueled vehicle supply, inventory and alternative fuel consumption in the United States. Data series are presented at various levels including vehicle type, weight class, fuel type, state geographic location, and user group.

Monthly Energy Review

EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; carbon dioxide emissions; and data unit conversions. Preliminary MER data show that U.S. energy net imports in January 2010 decreased 15% from the January 2009 level, due primarily to a decrease in the imports of crude oil. Monthly Natural Gas Gross Production Report with data for February 2010

Monthly natural gas gross withdrawals estimated from data collected on Form EIA-914 (Monthly Natural Gas Production Report) for Federal Offshore Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming, Other States and Lower 48 States. Alaska data are from the State of Alaska and included to obtain a U.S. Total.

New Methodology for Natural Gas Production Estimates

A new methodology is implemented with the monthly natural gas production estimates from the EIA-914 survey this month. The estimates, to be released April 29, 2010, include revisions for all of 2009. The fundamental changes in the new process include the timeliness of the historical data used for estimation and the frequency of sample updates, both of which are improved. A detailed description of the new methodology is available now.

Electric Power Monthly January 2010 data

The latest EPM issue (April 2010) is now available on EIA's Electricity page. Data are for January 2010, during which net generation in the United States grew by 1.4 percent and consumption of coal for power generation was down by 0.1 percent compared to January 2009. The average retail price of electricity for January 2010 was 9.35 cents per kilowatthour (kWh), 3.8 percent lower than January 2009 when the average retail price of electricity was 9.72 cents per kWh. Market Assessment of Refinery Outages Planned for March 2010 through June 2010

This report reviews the supply implications of refinery outages planned for March through June 2010, which covers the seasonal increase in gasoline demand. Refinery outages are the result of both planned maintenance and unplanned unit shutdowns. Maintenance is usually scheduled during the times when demand is lowest, i.e., in the first quarter and again in the fall. Unplanned outages can occur at any time and for any reasons such as mechanical failure, fire, or flood.

International Petroleum Monthly - March 2010

The International Petroleum Monthly (IPM) is the Energy Information Administration's primary report of recent international petroleum (oil) statistics. This report includes world petroleum production statistics through January 2010. The IPM also includes estimates for petroleum demand, stocks, and imports for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries through December 2009.

OPEC Revenues Fact Sheet

Based on projections from the EIA April 2010 Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could earn $769 billion of net oil export revenues in 2010 and $828 billion in 2011. Last year, OPEC earned $573 billion in net oil export revenues, a 41 percent decrease from 2008. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $154 billion, representing 27 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earning reached $1,554 in 2009, a 42 percent decrease from 2008.
