Changes to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR)
Release Date: May 18, 2023
EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) will begin showing Fuel Ethanol and Total Motor Gasoline (sum of Finished Motor Gasoline and Motor Gasoline Blending Components) estimates separate from Other Oils exports estimates starting on June 1, 2023.
- Added Fuel Ethanol Exports as a new data series
- Changed label for export data from Finished Motor Gasoline to Total Motor Gasoline for all file formats (sourcekey stays the same)
- Total Motor Gasoline prior to June 1, 2023, is only Finished Motor Gasoline
- No backcasting of historical data
- Included Motor Gasoline Blending Components in Total Motor Gasoline exports (starting June 1, 2023)
- Excluded Motor Gasoline Blending Components and Fuel Ethanol from Other Oils export quantities (starting June 1, 2023)
- No backcasting of historical data
- Changed format/layout to WPSR publication files (Table 9 and Overview (only Table 9) files will be affected)
- Made testsite for WPSR IR released files available for review and automated data retrieval programs to test
- Updated Petroleum Data Tables, EIA Application Programming Interface (API), and This Week in Petroleum to reflect changes in WPSR
