2006 Energy Consumption by Manufacturers--Data Tables

Aug 5, 2010
The last 2006 MECS tables are now available for access. These newly added tables include estimate for average prices and expenditures, participation in energy management activities, and fuel-switching capacity of electricity, natural gas, and selected fuels. Table 10.1 looks at the actual total fuel consumption of various fuels in relationship to their minimum and the maximum possible consumptions. Both the extreme values were derived through the fuel-switching capacity estimates. As in previous year, natural gas and coal are closer to their maximum values while distillate fuel oil, residual fuel oil, and LPG are closer to their minimum values. Both the energy management activity and the fuel-switching tables have new content not seen before in MECS estimates. The next MECS will cover the year 2010 and will be conducted in the beginning of 2011.
