Respondents are operators of all operating and idle petroleum refineries (including new refineries under construction) and refineries shut down during the previous year, located in the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and other U.S. possessions.

The Annual Energy Review 2006 reports U.S. energy history from 1949-2006 in data tables and figures. All major forms of energy (fossil fuels, nuclear electricity, and renewable energy) and total energy by activity (e.g., production, consumption, trade, stocks, and prices) are covered. Also included are financial indicators related to energy; international energy; environmental indicators; and data unit conversions. Key long-term trends are graphically illustrated in a special section called "Energy Perspectives."

and production of dry natural gas measured in both cubic feet and British thermal units (Btu) and
(b) gross heat content of both dry natural gas consumption and dry natural gas production; (2)
time series data for the years 1990-2005 for dry natural gas imports and exports; (3) detailed
data for natural gas production and dry natural gas supply and disposition (including imports
and exports) for the year 2004; and (4) estimates of proved reserves of natural gas as of
January 1, 2006. (Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2005 on carbon
dioxide emissions from the consumption and flaring of natural gas will be released later.)
Important Notes: (1) The Energy Information Administration reviews its databases each year
and important revisions are made to the time series data of individual countries during this
review. Therefore, data in the International Energy Annual 2005 may have been
substantially revised relative to previous editions. (2) In this edition, we have also moved
Cyprus from our Middle East region to our Europe region, changed the name of Serbia and Montenegro
to Former Serbia and Montenegro, and added the countries of Montenegro and Serbia to our Europe

The June, 2007 issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is now available on EIAs Electricity Publications page. MFE provides an early look at the highlights of the upcoming Electric Power Monthly publication and presents tables of electricity generation, fuel consumption for generation, fossil fuel stocks, and average retail sales and prices of electricity. MFE precedes the next issue of EPM by three weeks. The current issue covers an early review of the April, 2007 electricity data. Preliminary first quarter 2007 statistics compared with first quarter 2006 statistics show U.S. total energy production up 0.4 percent and U.S. total energy consumption up 3.6 percent.
