State-Level Energy Consumption, Price, and Expenditure Data Through 2004

Comprehensive annual State-level energy consumption, price, and expenditure statistics through 2004 are now available at State-Level Energy Consumption, Price, and Expenditure Data. The State data are estimates of consumption for all energy sources by end-use sector beginning in 1960 and estimates of prices and expenditures for the same energy sources by end-use sector beginning in 1970. This release includes all State and sector totals through 2004 and State rankings of consumption, prices, and expenditures by major energy source and end-use sector. Data are provided in tables of PDF and HTML format, as well as in comma-separated data files that are spreadsheet and database compatible. Detailed documentation of data sources and estimation methodologies are also provided.

Today the Energy Information Administration released the latest report that reviews recent financial performance of independent U.S. energy companies. Data presented are for January through March 2007. The next update, for April through June 2007, will be released in August 2007.

EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. U.S. motor gasoline consumption for the first four months of 2007 was up 2 percent compared with both the first four months of 2006 and the first four months of 2005. Today the Energy Information Administration released the Acquisitions and Divestitures by Foreign Direct Investors in U.S. Energy 2005 report. This report reviews acquisitions of U.S. energy assets by foreign investors in 2005. Foreign direct acquisitions are purchases, directly or indirectly, by the original foreign investor resulting in the ownership of 10 percent or more of the voting securities of an incorporated U.S. business enterprise or the equivalent interest in an unincorporated U.S. business.
U.S. Carbon Dioxide Emissions from Energy Sources 2006 Flash Estimate

The flash estimate is based on data published in the Energy Information Administration's Monthly Energy Review (April 2007). These estimates are considered to be preliminary. More detailed estimates of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from all sources, energy and non-energy, will appear in the report Emissions of Greenhouse Gases in the United States, 2006, which is scheduled to be released in November 2007. The latest report for all greenhouse gases and sources is still available.
International Energy Outlook 2007

Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE)

The May, 2007 issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is now available on EIA's Electricity page. MFE provides an early look at the highlights of the upcoming Electric Power Monthly publication and presents tables of electricity generation, fuel consumption for generation, fossil fuel stocks, and average retail sales and prices of electricity. MFE precedes the next issue of EPM by three weeks. The current issue covers an early review of the March, 2007 electricity data. The publication is available both in PDF and Excel formats and can be accessed at the following address:
