West South Central Energy Market Map

EIA's newest Energy Market Map is now available. The West South Central map shows the geographic locations of key energy sites in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas as of the year 2000. Oil ports and refineries, natural gas pipeline flow, market centers, electric power plants and transmission lines, and Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) storage facilities are included.

1998 Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey Data Tables

New data from the 1998 Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey (MECS) have been added to the Web Site. The data tables present information on prices, expenditures, and quantities of purchased energy. Of special interest, breakouts of purchases of electricity and natural gas from utilities and nonutilities are available. The tables show that purchasers of natural gas from nonutility suppliers enjoy a lower price, but region of the country appears to be a much more significant factor.
