The latest EPM issue (November 2008) is now available on EIA's http://www.eia.doe.gov/fuelelectric.html. Data being published in the November 2008 EPM include August 2008 data. Historical copies of the EPM tables in Excel format have also been posted on the EIA website, dating back to the May 2003 publication of the EPM. OPEC Revenues Fact Sheet

Based on projections from the EIA November 2008 Short Term Energy Outlook (STEO), members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could earn $979 billion of net oil export revenues in 2008, and $595 billion in 2009. Through October, OPEC has earned an estimated $884 billion in net oil export earnings in 2008. Last year, OPEC earned $671 billion in net oil export revenues, a 10 percent increase from 2006. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $194 billion, representing 29 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earning reached $1,137, a 8 percent increase from 2006.

Commercial Buildings New Release of the 2003 End-Use Consumption Data Tables

End-use consumption data tables for the 2003 Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) are now available. The tables (in PDF, Excel, and HTML formats) show major end-use consumption for electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, district heat, and major fuels for all commercial buildings and non-mall commercial buildings. End-use consumption is the disaggregation of total consumption into consumption specifically for uses such as heating, cooling, lighting, water heating, and office equipment.

Release of the 2005 RECS Consumption & Expenditures Summary Statistics Data Tables

The 2005 RECS Consumption & Expenditures Summary Statistics data tables are now available. These 15 tables include tabulations for total energy consumption and expenditures, average consumption and expenditures, energy intensities, and unit prices. Each table contains statistics according to various household characteristics. The tables may be accessed at: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/recs/recs2005/hc2005_tables/c&e/detailed_tables2005c&e.html Direct specific questions to: Marilyn.Worthy@eia.doe.gov or James.Berry@eia.doe.gov. Detailed consumption and expenditures tables for space heating, air conditioning, water heating, and home appliances and lighting will be available late October and early November. A public 2005 RECS micro-dataset and documentation will also be made available for users seeking more detailed analyses. EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. See What's New in the Monthly Energy Review for a record of changes. Preliminary statistics comparing the first three quarters of 2008 versus the first three quarters of 2007 show that U.S. crude oil production was down 2 percent; U.S. petroleum imports were down 5 percent; and U.S. petroleum products supplied, which is a measure of consumption, was down 5 percent.
