This presentation provides information about EIA's estimates of working gas peak storage capacity, and the development of the natural gas storage industry. Natural gas shale and the need for high deliverability storage are identified as key drivers in natural gas storage capacity development. The presentation also provides estimates of planned storage facilities through 2012.

The October issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is available on EIAs Electricity page. This issue provides early highlights of August 2010 electricity data. In August 2010, total electric power generation in the United States increased 7.3 percent compared to August 2009. Over the same period, retail sales of electricity increased 8.1 percent, while the average U.S. retail price of electricity increased 1.0 percent.
Analysis of Selected Provisions of the Domestic Manufacturing and Energy Jobs Act of 2010

This analysis service report responds to Janice Mays, Staff Director of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Ways and Means, requesting that the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) analyze several provisions included in the July 26, 2010, discussion draft of the Domestic Manufacturing and Energy Jobs Act of 2010. EIA was asked to analyze five specific provisions: an extension of the tax credit for manufacturers of energy efficient appliances (section 102); the establishment of Home Energy Conservation Bonds (HECBs) (section 301); an extension of the placed-in-service deadline for the 30 percent investment tax credit for offshore wind and geothermal properties (section 202); an extension of the Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREBs) program (section 203); and an investment tax credit for heavy vehicles using natural gas, hybrid electric, or all-electric drive (section 401).
Electric Power Monthly July 2010 data

The latest EPM issue (October 2010) is now available on EIA's Electricity page. Data are for July 2010, during which net generation in the United States grew by 10.2 percent compared to July 2009. The average retail price of electricity for July 2010 was 10.50 cents per kilowatthour (kWh), 1.3 percent higher than July 2009 when the average retail price of electricity was 10.37 cents per kWh.

International Petroleum Monthly - September 2010

The International Petroleum Monthly (IPM) is the Energy Information Administration's primary report of recent international petroleum (oil) statistics. This report includes world petroleum production statistics through July 2010. The IPM also includes statistics for petroleum demand, stocks, and imports for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries through June 2010.
