Performance Profiles of Major Energy Producers presents a comprehensive annual financial review and analysis of the domestic and worldwide activities and operations of the major U.S.-based energy-producing companies. Emerging issues in financial performance are also analyzed. The report primarily examines these companies¿ (the majors¿) operations on a consolidated corporate level, by individual lines of business, by major functions within each line-of-business, and by various geographic regions.

EIA's new Renewable Energy Map presents an integrated picture of renewable energy resources in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The map displays solar, geothermal, and wind energy potential; indicators of hydroelectric, biomass, and wood energy potential; and the geographic location of all renewable energy power plants with a net summer capacity of 1 megawatt or more.

EIA Proposes New Weekly Underground Natural Gas Storage Report (EIA-912)

EIA has requested Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval by January 14, 2002, to initiate a new weekly survey that will collect information on natural gas inventories held in U.S. underground storage facilities. Storage estimates will be collected for three multi-state regions comprising the lower 48 States. A copy of the materials submitted to OMB is available. Comments to OMB are due by January 4, 2002.

If you would like to volunteer to test EIA's pilot project to receive weekly retail diesel fuel price data by E-mail through your cellular telephone or Personal Digital Assistant, such as Palm Pilot, sign up above or contact the National Energy Information Center (NEIC) at 202-586-8800 or send NEIC an E-mail at infoctr@eia.doe.gov and provide your cellular telephone E-mail address. E-mail capability as part of your cellular telephone service is required. Every Monday, after 5:00 PM, EIA will send an E-mail message containing the current week's retail diesel fuel prices to your cellular telephone. EIA is interested in receiving comments from customers on the cell phone E-mail message and determining the interest of its customers for this new mode of disseminating data.
