Monthly Natural Gas Production Data

First release of monthly natural gas gross withdrawals estimated from data collected on the new Form EIA-914 (Monthly Natural Gas Production Report). Contains estimated monthly natural gas gross withdrawals for January through July 2005 for Federal Offshore Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming, Other States (excluding Alaska) and Lower 48 States. The accompanying Background and Methodology Report describes the background, purpose and methodology of the survey. These data are not yet official EIA data. After monthly natural gas production volumes based on the EIA-914 data have completed the final testing and approval process, they are expected to replace EIA's current natural gas production data series and become the official EIA natural gas monthly production data series.
Heating Oil and Propane Update

This year's winter heating season begins today. During this heating season, EIA will collect residential and wholesale prices of heating oil and propane by U.S., selected PAD Districts and States and publishes the data weekly typically on Wednesday at 1 pm. The heating season will extend from October 5, 2005 through March 13, 2006.

It presents key data tables (sorted by fuel and by geographic location) and some highlights of petroleum industry activity that impacted oil and natural gas production and proved reserves in 2004. The full report (to be published in November 2005) will contain more comprehensive data

EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions.
For the first half of 2005 compared with the first half of 2004, U.S. total energy production was down 0.2%; U.S. total energy imports were up 2.7%; U.S. total energy exports were up 14.0%; and U.S. total energy consumption was down 0.4%. Also included in this month's report is an Energy Plug on the "International Energy Outlook 2005." See "What's New in the Monthly Energy Review" for a record of changes.
Quarterly Coal Report ¿ 2nd Quarter 2005

This issue provides detailed quarterly data for April-June 2005
and the previous quarter, and aggregated historical data for 1999
through the second quarter 2005 on the U.S. coal industry. Information
includes: U.S. coal production, distribution, exports, imports, receipts,
prices, consumption, stocks, and quality; and U.S. coke production,
consumption, distribution, imports, and exports. All data for 2003 and
prior years are final. Data for 2004 are final, with the exception of
coal production and distribution, and data for the electric power sector.
