Solar Thermal Collector Manufacturing Activities 2007
Oct 2, 2008
Estimates of U.S. solar thermal collector shipments in this report indicate that after 3 years of rapid growth, shipments declined substantially in 2007, but it is not clear whether this is the beginning of a general decline or merely a brief interruption in the long-term upward trend.

Natural Gas Data for the International Energy Annual 2006
Sep 26, 2008
Excel spreadsheets with: (1) time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (a) the consumption
and production of dry natural gas measured in both cubic feet and British thermal units (Btu);
(b) carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption and flaring of natural gas; and
(c) gross heat content of both dry natural gas consumption and dry natural gas production; (2)
time series data for the years 1990-2006 for dry natural gas imports and exports; (3) detailed
data for natural gas production and dry natural gas supply and disposition for the year 2005;
and (4) estimates of proved reserves of natural gas as of January 1, 2007.
Important Notes: (1) The Energy Information Administration reviews its databases each year
and important revisions are made to the time series data of individual countries during this
review. Therefore, data in the International Energy Annual 2006 may have been
substantially revised relative to previous editions. (2) In this edition, the name of East Timor
has been changed to Timor-Leste (East Timor). (3) Natural gas data for more recent
periods for most countries are available in the Natural Gas section of our
International Page.)
Annual Energy Outlook Retrospective Review: Evaluation of Projections in Past Editions (1982-2008)
Sep 25, 2008
This paper provides a comparison between realized energy outcomes and the projections included in previous editions of the AEO. Each year, the comparison adds the projections from the most recent AEO and updates the historical data to the most recently available. The comparison summarizes the relationship of the AEO reference case projections since 1982 to realized outcomes by calculating the average absolute percent differences for several of the major variables for AEO82 through AEO2008.
Monthly Energy Reveiw
Sep 24, 2008
EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production,consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas,coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. See What's New in the Monthly Energy Review
for a record of changes. In preliminary statistics, total energy imported into the United States fell by 5 percent in the first half of 2008 compared with the first half of 2007 and total energy exported from the United States expanded by 42 percent, for a drop in total energy net imports of 13
percent.
Annual Coal Report, 2007
Sep 18, 2008
In an effort to make the 2007 coal production data available sooner,
EIA is releasing on the website a majority of the tables from the "Annual
Coal Report." These tables contain data on coal production, prices, reserves,
employment, and productivity. The entire publication will be available late in
2008, after the electric power data is finalized.
Electric Power Monthly
Sep 17, 2008
The latest EPM issue (August 2008) is now available on EIA's http://www.eia.doe.gov/fuelelectric.html. Data being published in the August 2008 EPM include May 2008 data. Historical copies of the EPM tables in Excel format have also been posted on the EIA website, dating back to the May 2003 publication of the EPM. These files can be accessed at the following address:
