Solar Photovoltaic Cell/Module Manufacturing Activities 2007

Information in this report indicates that the 2007 U.S. photovoltaic (PV) industry is more than 10 times the size it was in 1998. Total PV cell and module shipments reached 517,684 peak kilowatts in 2007, a 53 percent increase from the 2006 shipments of 337,268 kilowatts.

Early Release of the Reference Case from the Annual Energy Outlook 2009

The AEO2009 presents long-term projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, which are based on results from EIAs National Energy Modeling System (NEMS). The AEO2009 Early Release only includes the reference case. The full publication, including many additional cases examining energy markets, will be released early 2009.

EIA to Restore 10:30 AM Release Time for Weekly Petroleum and Natural Gas Data

EIA will move the standard release time of the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) and the Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR) back to the original time of 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) in early January. The change is effective beginning with the WPSR release on Wednesday, January 7, and with the WNGSR release on Thursday January 8.

The day and time at which the weekly reports are released will continue to vary from the standard practice during certain weeks that include a Federal holiday. The official schedule with dates and times for those releases are available for the WPSR at http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/fwd/wpsrsch.html and for the WNGSR at http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/natural_gas/ngs/schedule.html.

Electric Power Monthly

Historical copies of the EPM tables in Excel format have also been posted on the EIA website, dating back to the May 2003 publication of the EPM. Upcoming changes to the Petroleum Supply Monthly

Changes to the monthly petroleum supply surveys (Forms EIA-810 through 820) and associated published products are planned for the end of March 2009 with data for January 2009. Affected published products include:

* Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM)
* Annual Refinery Capacity Report
* Petroleum Navigator

Changes to the above mentioned products include adding renewable fuels, showing fuel ethanol supply and demand, and incorporating ethanol production (formerly published in PSM Appendix D) into petroleum supply and disposition tables.

This announcement highlights the upcoming changes so data users will have sufficient time to plan for the change. Additional details, including previews of new data tables in PDF, HTML (Navigator), CSV and XLS formats, will be provided in January 2009.
