EIA's Natural Gas Production Data

This special report examines the stages of natural gas processing from the wellhead to the pipeline network through which the raw product becomes ready for transportation and eventual consumption, and how this sequence is reflected in the data published by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Annual Energy Outlook 2009 with Projections to 2030

The AEO2009 presents projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, which are based on results from EIA's National Energy Modeling System (NEMS). The analysis in AEO2009 focuses primarily on a reference case and four other cases that assume higher and lower economic growth and higher and lower oil prices than in the reference case. However, the analysis includes over 30 alternative cases examining different aspects of energy markets.

This months report includes the first complete set of preliminary 2008 total energy statistics: U.S. total energy production at 73.9 quadrillion Btu (up 3.3% compared with 2007); U.S. net imports of energy at 25.8 quadrillion Btu (down 11.9%); and U.S. total energy consumption at 99.6 quadrillion Btu (down 2.0%). Revisions to International Page on the EIA Web Site

Most of the links in the Data section on the left side of the International page of the EIA website have been revised to direct users to default tables in EIAs recently-released International Energy Statistics Portal. The customer can modify these tables to show different products; countries, regions or country groups; time periods; and units of measure.  The tables can also be downloaded as Excel spreadsheets.

Form EIA-861 Annual Sales and Revenue Databases

The Annual Sales and Revenue Data Files have been updated. Final 2007 data are now posted. These data files include such information as peak load, net generation, electric purchases, sales, revenues, customer counts, demand-side management programs, green pricing and net metering programs, and distributed generation capacity.

The March, 2009 issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is now available on EIAs Electricity page. MFE provides an early look at the highlights of the upcoming Electric Power Monthly publication and presents tables of electricity generation, fuel consumption for generation, fossil fuel stocks, and average retail sales and prices of electricity. MFE precedes the next issue of EPM by three weeks. The current issue covers an early review of the January, 2009 electricity data. Electric Power Monthly

Changes to Petroleum Navigator Supply Data

Beginning with January 2009 data (currently planned for the end of March 2009) Petroleum Navigator will be modified to reflect changes made to the Petroleum Supply Monthly surveys. A chart provides a table by table description of changes to Navigator including examples that illustrate new table and XLS formats.

Geothermal Heat Pump Manufacturing Activities

Information in this report indicates that the 2007 total geothermal heat pump shipments surged 36 percent to 86,396 units, while capacity shipped rose 19 percent to 291,300 tons. While 2007 capacity growth was substantial, it was below growth in 2006, which was 53 percent. Total rated capacity of geothermal heat pumps shipped in 2006 was 245,603 tons, compared to 160,402 tons in 2005.
