- Energy overview, Energy consumption by sector, and Environment now include preliminary 2022 statistics for U.S. total energy consumption, production, trade, and carbon dioxide emissions.
- Petroleum consumption by sector (Tables 3.7a, 3.7b, and 3.7c) and Heat content of petroleum consumption by sector (Tables 3.8a, 3.8b, and 3.8c) have revised sector allocations for distillate fuel oil, propane, kerosene, and residual fuel oil from 2021–2022. The revisions affect data in Energy consumption by sector, Environment, and Approximate heat content of petroleum consumption and fuel ethanol (Table A3).
- Updated preliminary 2022 petroleum and natural gas heat contents for Approximate Heat Content tables (A2, A3, and A4) have been incorporated. Revisions affect data presented in Energy overview, Energy consumption by sector, Petroleum, Renewable energy, and Environment. The revised 2022 heat contents are used as estimated 2023 heat contents
