Monthly U.S. Nuclear Generation by Reactor, by State

This is a table reporting nuclear output for each of the Nation's 104 commercial reactors. If the reactor was shut down for the entire month, a negative number may appear (indicating electricity was provided by the power grid until the reactor could be brought back into service).

Oil Market Assessment

EIA has released an assessment of the oil market as of September 12, 2001, the day after the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, DC. Based on Energy Information Administration (EIA) contacts and trade press reports, overall U.S. and global oil supplies appear to have been minimally impacted.

Redesigned Form EIA-417

A redesigned reporting format for providing notice about electrical energy emergencies and threats against the operations of the electrical systems in the United States is now available for comment. The Energy Information Administration has released for a 60 day public comment period a proposed redesign of the Form EIA-417. The review period starts September 11, 2001.

Electricity Forms

EIA is currently seeking approval by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under Section 3507(a) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 for changes to its electric power data collection forms and data confidentiality policy. Besides the forms and data confidentiality policy, the OMB support statement, the September 11, 2001, Federal Register notice, and the summary of changes to its original March 13, 2001 proposal are also on the Internet web site at http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/elec2002/forms_page.html.

From the right column of the EIA States page you can now go directly to the EIA Monthly Time Series Data for each State. They start from January 1996 to the most recent available EIA data. Five time series are accessible: (1) Petroleum Product Prices, (2) Petroleum Product Sales, (3) Petroleum Product Stocks, (4) Natural Gas Prices, (5) Natural Gas Production and Sales. The data are extracted from the Oil and Gas Information Retrieval System (OGIRS).

Electric Power Annual 2000 Volume I

Energy Market Maps

EIA's Energy Market Maps, which show the U.S. energy infrastructure and key energy sites in each State, have been revised. All maps now show electric transmission lines of 345 kV - 499 kV, as well as lines of 500 kV and above previously shown on the maps.

Annual Energy Outlook Forecast Evaluation

In this paper, the Office of Integrated Analysis and Forecasting (OIAF) of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) evaluates the projections published in the Annual Energy Outlook (AEO), by comparing the projections from the Annual Energy Outlook 1982 through the Annual Energy Outlook 2001 with actual historical values. A set of major consumption, production, net import, price, economic, and emissions variables are included in the evaluation, updating similar papers from previous years. These evaluations also present the reasons and rationales for significant differences.

U.S. natural gas exports to grow nearly 30% by 2027 as LNG facilities ramp up ›

In our latest Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), we forecast that U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports will continue to increase as five LNG export projects start operations and ramp up production by the end of 2027. We also forecast increased natural gas pipeline exports, mainly to Mexico. In our forecast, net exports of U.S. natural gas (exports minus imports) grow 18% to 18.7 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2026. In 2027, net exports increase another 10% to 20.5 Bcf/d. More
