Aug 11, 2023 Petroleum liquids and renewable energy, specifically hydroelectric energy, account for most of Ecuador’s energy use. Ecuador’s energy production increased by a compounded growth rate of 0.5% per year from 2011 to 2021, and renewables accounted for most of the increase. Ecuador’s global share of petroleum and other liquids produced in 2021 was 0.6%, ranking fifth among oil producers in South America.
Aug 10, 2023 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through August 8, 2023, and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Aug 8, 2023 Crude oil prices. The Brent crude oil spot price averages $85 per barrel (b) in August in our forecast. Crude oil prices have increased since June, primarily because of extended voluntary cuts to Saudi Arabia’s crude oil production and increasing global demand. We expect these factors will continue to reduce global oil inventories and put upward pressure on oil prices in the coming months, with the Brent price averaging $86/b in the second half of 2023 (2H23), up about $7/b from our July Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) forecast for the same period. Rising global oil production in 2024 in our forecast keeps pace with oil demand and puts moderate downward pressure on crude oil prices beginning in the second quarter of 2024 (2Q24).

Aug 3, 2023 This webpage contains spreadsheets with early release 2022 data on sales to ultimate customers, wholesale electricity sales, and revenue data from the 2022 Form EIA-861 (latest website update: August 3, 2023). The files contain electricity sales, revenue, and price data and Energy Efficiency, Demand Response, Net Metering, Dispersed and Distributed Generation, Distribution Circuits, Distribution System Reliability, Balancing Authority, and Service Territory data. Form EIA-861 covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories.
Aug 1, 2023 This report updates a series of EIA analyses of federal energy subsidies, allocating tax and direct expenditure activities into 14 energy types across seven fiscal years (2016–2022). During this period, tax expenditures for renewable electricity producers, primarily wind and solar, became the largest share of federal energy subsidies. Overall federal energy subsidies reached a high of over $35 billion in fiscal year 2021.

Jul 31, 2023 In May 2023, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the 26th consecutive month. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in May 2023 was 3,196 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 103.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 5.5% (5.4 Bcf/d) higher than May 2022 (97.7 Bcf/d) and the highest level for any month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Gross withdrawals also increased from May 2022.
