Data series include fuel, electricity, and steam purchased for consumption at the refinery; refinery receipts of crude oil by method of transportation; current and projected capacities for atmospheric crude oil distillation, downstream charge, production, and storage capacities. Respondents are operators of all operating and idle petroleum refineries (including new refineries under construction) and refineries shut down during the previous year, located in the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and other U.S. possessions.

The April, 2008 issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is now available on EIA's Electricity page. MFE provides an early look at the highlights of the upcoming Electric Power Monthly publication and presents tables of electricity generation, fuel consumption for generation, fossil fuel stocks, and average retail sales and prices of electricity. MFE precedes the next issue of EPM by three weeks. The current issue covers an early review of the February, 2008 electricity data. For the latest EIA estimate of net oil export revenues by members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), please see our updated OPEC Revenues Fact Sheet.
EIA estimates that members of OPEC earned $673 billion in net oil export revenues in 2007, a 10 percent increase from 2006. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $194 billion, representing 29 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earning reached $1,140, a 8 percent increase from 2006. Through May, OPEC had earned an estimated $423 billion in net oil export earnings in 2008. Based on projections from the EIA June 2008 Short Term Energy Outlook (STEO), OPEC net oil export revenues could be $1,178 billion in 2008 and $1,214 billion in 2009.
