Financial News for Independent Energy Companies

Today the Energy Information Administration released "Financial News for Independent Energy Companies." This report is based on aggregated publicly available earnings and related information of U.S. independent energy companies. The report presents a short-term review of the companies' revenues and net income for the latest reporting period, January through March 2002. The report includes two tables.

Monthly Petroleum ProductsTime Series Data, by State -- an Update

On the US Map click on the desired State and then select the desired time series under Petroleum or Natural Gas; Or, from the right column of the EIA States page you can go directly to the EIA Monthly Time Series Data for each State. Five sets of time series are accessible. The updated petroleum products series: (1) Petroleum Product Prices, (2) Petroleum Product Sales, (3) Petroleum Product Stocks. They start from January 1996 and go through March 2002. The previously updated NG series: (1) Natural Gas Prices, (2) Natural Gas Production and Sales, start from January 1996 and go through January 2002. The data are extracted from the Oil and Gas Information Resource System (OGIRS).

EIA Requests Comments on Petroleum Supply Surveys

EIA issued a Federal Register notice soliciting comments on proposed revisions and an extension of approval for its petroleum supply forms. The proposed forms and changes in the definitions and instructions are available at www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/survey_forms/pet_proposed_forms.html. Comments must be filed by August 5, 2002.

New Web Page for Weekly Retail Diesel Fuel Price Data

The Energy Information Administration has redesigned its web page for weekly retail diesel fuel price data . The new web page provides easy access to current and historical price data with supporting documentation on sample and data collection methodology.

International Petroleum Monthly - May 2002

This report contains monthly world oil production data through March 2002, monthly OECD country demand, imports, and stocks data through January 2002, and the Oil Market Chronology for April 2002. Also included are international oil balance data for 1998-2002 and annual oil data series for 1970-2001.

New England Energy Infrastructure Map

EIA is updating its Energy Infrastructure Maps (previously named Energy Market Maps) to present data as of the year 2001. The newly updated New England Map shows the locations of all fossil fuel, nuclear, and renewable power plants with a net summer capability of 100 megawatts or more in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Electric transmission lines, oil import sites and refineries, home heating oil reserves, natural gas flow and market centers, Clean Cities, and major coal mines are shown.

Electric transmission lines, oil import sites and refineries, natural gas flow and market centers, Clean Cities, and major coal mines are shown. A companion map showing an enlarged view of the Louisiana-Texas Gulf Coast area is also provided. EIA is updating its Energy Infrastructure Map series (previously named Energy Market Maps) to present data as of the year 2001.

Weekly Gas Storage Comparison Report and Historical Data: EIA will release a paper comparing the AGA and EIA survey methods and estimates of natural gas in underground storage for the weeks between March 15 and April 26, 2002 on the web at 4 p.m. EDT May 8, 2002. At the same time EIA also will release a file containing estimates of weekly stocks from 1994 through April 19, 2002 that will be used in the historical comparisons presented in the Weekly Gas Storage Report and a description of the methodology used to derive these estimates.

Rooftop solar photovoltaic systems account for 20% of Puerto Rico’s capacity mix ›

Rooftop solar generating capacity in Puerto Rico totaled 1,456 megawatts (MW) at the end of 2025, 20% of the overall capacity mix. Rooftop solar capacity has increased faster than other sources over the past decade. Between 2016 and 2025 rooftop solar installations accounted for 81% of the new generating capacity in Puerto Rico, according to data from our Electric Power Monthly and Puerto Rico Energy Bureau’s (PREB) Quarterly Report on System Data. In 2025, rooftop solar became the second-largest capacity source, after petroleum liquids capacity (3,671 MW), and surpassed natural gas capacity (1,391 MW). More
