Monthly Energy Review

EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. Preliminary statistics comparing the first three quarters of 2007 versus the first three quarters of 2006 show that U.S. crude oil production was up 1 percent; U.S. petroleum imports were down 3 percent; and U.S. petroleum products supplied, which is a measure of consumption, was up slightly. Cost and Quality of Fuels for Electric Plants 2005 and 2006 Report

This report provides information concerning the quality, quantity, and cost of fossil fuels used by electric power generating plants in the United States. These plants are comprised of regulated utility power plants and independent power producers, including combined heat and power producers in the commercial and industrial sectors.

International Energy Annual 2005

The International Energy Annual 2005 is the Energy Information Administration's primary report of international energy statistics. Included are data on energy consumption and production; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, and electricity, as well as carbon dioxide emissions from the use of fossil fuels, petroleum prices, energy reserves, and population; and data unit conversion tables. For many series, data cover the years 1980-2005. Also included is a World Energy Overview comparing 1995 and 2005.

Electric Power Annual Report

The report presents 12 years (1995 - 2006) of National level data on electricity generation; electric generating capacity; capacity resource margins; fuel consumption; emissions; electricity trade; retail electric customers, sales, revenue and price; electric utility revenue and expense statistics; and demand-side management. New tables have been added which present national data for generation interconnection charges.

Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE)

The October, 2007 issue of the Monthly Flash Estimate (MFE) of Electric Power Data is now available on EIAs Electricity Publications page. MFE provides an early look at the highlights of the upcoming Electric Power Monthly publication and presents tables of electricity generation, fuel consumption for generation, fossil fuel stocks, and average retail sales and prices of electricity. MFE precedes the next issue of EPM by three weeks. The current issue covers an early review of the August, 2007 electricity data. Oil and Gas Excel Files to Change on November 9

Most Excel (XLS format) files found on petroleum and natural gas web pages will change on November 9. These changes are necessary to resolve navigational and formatting issues affecting some versions of Excel. In addition, the new files will provide more background information about the data. Users who extract data from these files programmatically are especially advised to take note of the changes. More

Federal Register Notice submitted to the OMB for Review and three-year extension for Electric Power Forms

The Federal Register carried the EIAs proposed collection changes to forms used to collect electric power industry data in the United States. The announcement opens up a thirty-day comment period when interested parties may respond to the proposals with comments by October 29, 2007. The FRn, proposed forms and instructions, supporting statement, and an outline of changes made to the forms and instructions since they were published in the April 4, 2007 Federal Register notice are posted on the EIA website at:

International Petroleum Monthly - September 2007

This report contains world petroleum production data through July 2007 and OECD country petroleum demand, imports, and stocks data through June 2007. Also included are international oil balance data for 2003-2007 and annual petroleum data series for 1970-2006. Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic Collector Manufacturing Activities, 2006

The Energy Information Administration's (EIA) recently released report indicates that both solar thermal collectors and solar photovoltaic power devices continued their double-digit growth in 2006. Total shipments of solar thermal collectors increased 29 percent to 20.7 million square feet, while total shipments of photovoltaic cells and modules increased nearly 50 percent to 337,268 peak kilowatts between 2005 and 2006.
