Enhanced weekly data access

Release Date: June 1, 2026

EIA is considering changes to the way we disseminate data in the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) by streamlining formats and introducing new offerings.

To solicit feedback from users on the proposed updated structure, sample test files for the week ending May 15, 2026, are available in CSV and JSON formats. These sample files are provided to help organizations validate and adjust automated data processes ahead of the transition.

User testing opportunities

EIA will host two user testing sessions to provide additional guidance on the new formats and answer questions. Our second user testing session will be at 1:00 p.m. eastern time on June 2. How to access and attend the WPSR testing sessions.
