In 2021, about 134.83 billion gallons (or about 3.21 billion barrels)1 of finished motor gasoline were consumed in the United States, an average of about 369 million gallons per day (or about 8.80 million barrels per day). This was about 6% less than the record high level of consumption of nearly 392 million gallons per day in 2018.
