International Energy Outlook (IEO) Issue in Focus Webinar

This is an
International Energy Outlook (IEO) Issue in Focus Webinar banner.EIA presents Alternative industrial sector outcomes in India, an International Energy Outlook 2019 Issue in Focus paper.

India is a developing economy with the world’s fastest-growing population and gross domestic product (GDP) in the International Energy Outlook 2019. As a result, long-term energy consumption projections are uncertain because of the rapid rate of change that is magnified by the size of the economy. This discussion explores two aspects of uncertainty about India’s future energy consumption: assumptions about economic composition and industrial sector energy intensity. Elizabeth Sendich, EIA Industrial Economist, will present the Issue in Focus, and  Nicholas Chase, EIA Macroeconomics Team Lead, will moderate the following discussion. This discussion will include Jitendra Roychoudhury, Research Fellow at King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center.
