Does EIA publish shale gas and coal bed methane production and reserves data?

Yes.  EIA publishes historical state-level production data and estimates of proved reserves for shale gas and coal bed methane in its U.S. Crude Oil, Natural Gas, and Natural Gas Liquids Proved Reserves annual report.

There are projections for U.S. shale gas and coal bed methane production in Table 14 and in Figure MT-44 in Market Trend – Natural Gas of the Annual Energy Outlook.

EIA also published two analyses World Shale Gas Resources: An Initial Assessment of 14 Regions Outside the United States, and Review of Emerging Resources: U.S. Shale Gas and Shale Oil Plays in July 2011.
