Overview

Fewer companies now report on the EIA-63B survey because of consolidation and changes to strategic planning of companies in the U.S. solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. As a result of fewer survey respondents, the data tables in the 2013 report are less detailed than in past reports to protect the confidentiality of the individual company-level data. Data can no longer be published for the specific types of PV cells and modules, or by region.

Table changes:

  • Table 1. Unchanged.
  • Table 2. The value and price for PV cells are no longer included.
  • Table 3. Unchanged.
  • Table 4. Prices for PV cells are no longer included. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. Instead, the total price for all types of modules is shown.
  • Table 5. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. The total for all types of PV modules is shown.
  • Table 6. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. The total for all types of PV modules is shown.
  • Table 7. The previous version of this table can no longer be displayed at the state level to protect the confidentiality of company-level data. The total of manufactured modules is now included in Table 6. All subsequent tables have been renumbered. Information in the new Table 7 covering imports has been consolidated into four categories: China, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, and all others. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. The total for all types of PV modules is shown.
  • Table 8. Exports have been consolidated to the continent level, rather than country level, except for exports to Canada and Mexico. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. The total for all types of PV modules is shown.
  • Table 9. Individual data for crystalline silicon, thin film, and concentrator types of modules cannot be published. The total for all types of PV modules is shown.
  • Tables 10 through 20. These tables are no longer published to protect the confidentiality of company-level data. In addition, data by technology type can no longer be published.
