Informed consent for nonstatistical uses

EIA may use CIPSEA information for a nonstatistical purpose only if the survey respondent provides informed consent.

The consent must be in writing and identify the information and how it may be used. EIA rarely requests that respondents waive data confidentiality and sign informed consent forms. In these rare cases, EIA is usually requesting permission from the respondent to release its reported information either to another government agency or as part of a public release of information.

For more information and questions on informed consent, please email EIA CIPSEA team.
