The word confidential may only be used in the pledge when protecting information under CIPSEA. |

Only information protected under CIPSEA is defined and labeled as confidential. For surveys that do not use CIPSEA to protect the reported information, the information is considered either sensitive or public. Surveys that do not use CIPSEA to protect sensitive information may not use the word confidential in the pledge to protect sensitive information. |
