Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Marking for CIPSEA Materials

	Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is information that requires some level of protection from unauthorized access and release, and it includes information protected by CIPSEA
	The goal of the CUI program is to standardize the managing of CUI across federal agencies and departments, as well as state, local, tribal, and private sector entities; academia; and industry
		In 2010, CUI program was originally established by Executive Order 13556
		In 2022, DOE Order 471.7 established DOE’s CUI program to implement the requirements under the Executive Order
	The CUI program uses categories and markings to identify information that is not classified but should still be protected
	All electronic files, emails with attachments, and printed listings containing CIPSEA data should contain the following banner on each page to ensure proper handling:
