Weekly Petroleum Status Report Revision Notice

On Wednesday, August 26, we published the full set of Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) data and WPSR summary text at 10:30 a.m. The summary text initially said distillate fuel inventories “increased by 2.2 million barrels.” In fact, distillate fuel inventories decreased by 2.2 million barrels, a change that was accurately reported in our data tables. We updated the text to accurately reflect the data at 12:13 p.m. on August 26. This revision notice should have been posted on the same day for full transparency and to clarify that only the text of the summary was erroneous, not the data tables. We regret the errors.
