Highlights: October 2023

• Texas (ERCOT) electricity demand reached 84% of its annual high on October 4, 2023. A late season heat wave enveloped the state causing a spike in demand for electricity.

• Wholesale electricity and natural gas prices remained on the low end of the 12-month range at all locations.

• All areas of the country, except for the MidAtlantic, saw an increase in electricity generation from other renewables sources compared to October 2022.
