Highlights: February 2024

• Wholesale electricity high prices fell 67%-92% at all selected trading hubs from the previous month and set 12-month lows in Louisiana (into Entergy).

• Electricity system daily peak demand highs during the month fell 1-28% at all selected electricity systems from January to February due to very mild temperatures across the country.

• Total U.S. coal stockpiles increased by 4.4% to 127 million tons compared with the previous month, mainly due to decreased demand for electricity generation from coal caused by above average temperatures experienced across the country during February 2024.
