California Energy Commission

The California Energy Commission is the State's principal energy planning organization. The Energy Commission hosts Energy Quest (www.energyquest.ca.gov), a comprehensive educational website focused on energy resources for K-12 students and teachers. The site offers general information on energy, including sources, history and efficiency as well as energy in transportation, and research and discoveries in energy. Energy Quest also features games, videos, lesson plans, activities, stories, science fair project resources, an energy education resource directory for California and links to many other energy-related sites. Teachers and students will enjoy learning about electricity generation from the You've Got the Power available on Energy Quest or on DVD by request (California teachers only). California students in grades 3-8 can participate in the Energy Commission's energy art calendar contest, which is held each spring.

The Energy Commission's Consumer Energy Center, www.consumerenergycenter.org, provides information for older students on renewable energy, energy efficiency, lighting, green design and transportation.
