Form EIA-923 Power Plant Operations Report for 2011
What's New Fact Sheet
Schedule 1
- There is a new name and email address for the Help Desk.
- If the CHP box is checked, the efficiency (percent) must be given.
Schedule 2
- ANT (anthracite) and RC (refined coal) have been added as an energy source.
Schedule 3A
- ANT (anthracite) and RC (refined coal) have been added as an energy source.
- All combined-cycle plants with steam capacities of 10 MW and above are now required to report the CA unit consumption by boiler, regardless of supplemental firing status.
Schedule 3B
- ANT (anthracite) and RC (refined coal) have been added as an energy source.
- CE units are now required to report MWh consumed to store compressed air.
- FC units are now required to report NG (or other energy source) used to provide hydrogen to the FC.
Schedule 4
- Adjustments must now have a comment stating the nature of the adjustment.
- Non-zero balances must have an explanatory comment.
Schedule 5A
- All combined-cycle plants 10 MW and above are now required to report the CA unit generation by generator ID, regardless of supplemental firing status.
Schedule 6
- Direct Use is power used on site, excluding station use, required from industrial and commercial sector plants. It is not required by IPP or utility plants.
- Other outgoing electricity includes generation provided under tolling agreements, exchanges, or other miscellaneous arrangements. It does not include Direct use (generation used on site at industrial or commercial facilities).
Schedule 8D
- Monthly data must be reported annually.
- This schedule must be filed by every thermoelectric plant with at least 100 MW of capacity (nuclear, organic fueled and combined cycle, with or without supplemental firing).
- 'Diversion' is a new element applying to cooling systems that divert water from a natural water source into a reservoir or pond prior to intake to the cooling system.
- 'Measured or Estimated' is a new element to indicate if diversion, withdrawal, discharge, or consumption flow rates are actually measured or estimated. If estimated, the method must be reported. This element uses a drop-down list of choices and enters a number in the field.
- Temperature data is newly defined. Monthly maximum and monthly average temperature at intake and at discharge are collected.
- 'Measured or Estimated' is a new element to indicate if intake or discharge temperatures are actually measured or estimated. If estimated, the method must be reported. This element uses a drop-down list of choices and enters a number in the field.
