Slide 9 of 26
Notes:
- As of February 16, distillate fuel oil stocks were about 118 million barrels, which is almost identical to their 5-year average for this time of year, and 11 percent higher than a year ago. Heating oil stocks were at 49 million barrels, or about 10 percent lower than their seasonal 5-year average, but 18 percent above last year.
- The stability of distillate stocks through the heart of this winter, when they usually decline, has virtually eliminated concerns about supply adequacy for the remainder of the heating season, and allowed heating oil and diesel fuel prices to fall recently.
