Notes:
- The rate at which prices are passed through from wholesale to retail varies regionally, for a number of reasons, not all of which we fully understand. For example, for whatever reason, changes in wholesale prices show up relatively quickly at retail in the Midwest.
- However, it’s important to note that this process still takes a total of 7 weeks, and that the lag is fairly consistent in both directions – rising and falling.
