Demand Decline Contributed to Stock Excess
Notes:
- This graph, which has non-chemical uses of propane stacked on top of ethylene feedstock use, shows that petrochemical use of propane was up in 1998, as we just saw.
- On the other hand, other uses of propane were down, causing total demand to fall in 1998 by 58 MB/D, or 5 percent. Non-petrochemical demand fell by almost 12 percent.
- Weather is one of the factors affecting non-petrochemical demand, and seems to have been a driver behind the drop in non-petrochemical demand during 1998.
