Residential Demand Growth

While overall demand by the more seasonal consumers of gas will be up over 8 percent for the heating season, much of the demand growth will be focussed in the residential and commercial sectors in the first quarter of 1999.

The requirements of residential and commercial users could be more than 15 percent higher early in the year. This is offset somewhat by lower usage in the last quarter of 1998. Last winter began cold and then temperatures were more moderate in the early part of 1998.
