| Overview: In September 2006, the Vermont Public Service Board (Board) approved a memorandum of understanding on Alternative Regulation ("Plan") between Vermont Gas Systems, Inc. (VGS) and the Vermont Department of Public Service, the State's public advocate. Under the Plan, VGS is entitled to set rates based on the revenue required to recover its cost of service based on traditional ratemaking principles, but the Plan also includes a purchased gas adjustment clause and an earnings sharing mechanism. In 2007, the Board approved VGS tariffs providing interruptible service, including transportation-only service and bundled-sales service. |
