| Overview: No retail unbundling program is being considered at this time by either the Oregon Public Utility Commission or the State legislature. Legislation was enacted in 1999 to restructure the State's electricity industry. However, legislation (HB3633) passed in August 2001 delayed the date for implementing retail access for large industrial electricity customers from October 2001 to March 2002. |
| EIA State Data: In 2005, Oregon had 626,685 residential and 73,520 commercial customers. They consumed 40 and 28 billion cubic feet of natural gas, respectively. The average prices paid for natural gas purchased from local distribution companies by residential and commercial customers were $12.90 and $10.42 per thousand cubic feet, respectively. |
